Matt Homsher

Hello! My name is Matt Homsher and I was born in Boise and lived here my whole childhood. I grew up playing sports on the Milwaukee Sports fields right behind Capital. I graduated from Centennial High School and went to Eastern Washington University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education. I began working in the educational field in 2008 in Spokane, WA. In 2011, I earned my Masters in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. From 2012-2015, I served as the Special Education Director/Teacher for the Mansfield School District (Washington). After 12 years living in Washington, I decided that it was time to move back to Boise. I started teaching at Capital in 2015 and am proud to be a Capital Eagle. I currently teach 10th grade Resource Room and am an assistant football and baseball coach. In the winters you can find me as the PA announcer for basketball.

Outside of the classroom, I relish every moment I can spend with my daughter Morgan. I also enjoy being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and riding four wheelers. BBQing and being around friends and family is another activity that I enjoy.

I have been an admirer of Capital for a long time and enjoy being here. The students teach me something new everyday. I can’t wait to continue to be apart of the community and continue on the rich traditions! Go Eagles!
